Florida Lock and Key carries a wide range of door locking hardware on all of our locksmith service vehicles. We train our locksmiths in all types of lock installation. From commercial grade recessed store-front mortise locks to electronic pushbutton keypad locks. Florida Lock and Key can handle any new lock installation with our Custom Lock Install Locksmith Service. In most cases, you can order your custom lock install over the phone. However, for most commercial customers we suggest that one of our locksmiths performs a service call to assess the correct lock hardware for your business.

The next option is very important as it is the whole purpose of the lock; the lock’s operation:
- Double-sided Deadbolt – our locksmith will usually suggest using these locks when installing the lock on a glass door, or where the lock is in close proximity of a breakable window, which once broken would allow a thief operation of the thumbturn to unlock the door. However, with the double-sided deadbolt installed, the thief would require a key to operate the lock from either side.
- Entry – We will suggest using these on most entry doors. Their design is key on one side and a thumbturn to lock and unlock from the other side.
- Storeroom – our locksmiths will recommend using these on doors that should always require a key to open from the outside. This means that the lockset is always locked and protects from someone ever forgetting to lock the door.
- Bathroom – We will suggest these locks where you want privacy, but at not a high level of security. These are mainly used on residential jobs for bedrooms and bathrooms that are not exterior to the home as they do not require a key and are extremely simple to bypass.
- Passage – our locksmiths will suggest using these where you need to close a door but locking isn’t important. You will mainly find these commonly used on closet doors and hallway doors.
- Dummy – We will suggest using these where you don’t require lock operations but you need one for aesthetics. A good example location would be residential double entry doors: one side may have an operating handleset but the other door has pins that lock it to the frame and therefore requires no functional locking mechanism.
